Background

I have worn many hats in my life, some of which include those of a wife, mother, mother-in-love, grandmother, sister, daughter, friend, volunteer, employee, and adviser. Life experiences gained through marriage, parenting, job changes, caregiving, grief/loss, and illness have brought me to the mountaintops of joy and to the depths of discouragement and difficulty.

In addition to my faith practice, one discipline I have maintained through the highs and the lows of life has been that of seeking outside counsel from trained professionals. Those counselors have helped me gain insight, take note of blind spots, create healthy relational patterns, heal hurts, and cast vision for my future.

As I reached the "empty nest" stage of life, my love of learning and my heart for helping others led me to pursue a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Georgia. Prior to opening a private practice, I worked in community mental health and at a non-profit counseling center for sexual trauma.
